Stevens should resign

Go sign the petition :

WHEREAS Senator Theodore Fulton Stevens has, during his 40 years in the U.S. Senate, established a notorious reputation for using Senate rules to benefit his friends and patrons at the expense of the taxpayers at large;

WHEREAS Senator Stevens has been identified by the non-partisan Club for Growth as one of "the Congress’ most notorious porkers";

The Inaccurate Peanut Butter Analogy:

Senator Barack Obama recently told an adorable story about how she shared his peanut butter sandwich with a friend when he was in fourth grade. His adoring fans then laughed on cue when he said, “I guess that’s why they call me a re-distributionist!”

The problem with his amusing childhood tale is that it is not at all an accurate analogy for what he wants to impose on our country. Let’s try this instead:

"I'm Willing to Give President Obama the Same Fair Chance as the Left and MSM Gave President Bush":

If Obama wins, the left (and media) will declare that now is the time to rise above partisanship.

I will answer the same way they did to Bush's similar call in January 2001.

Of course, their definition of "rise above partisanship" has always been "agree with the Democrats."

Heard some of the debate on the radio tonight

While I was out driving. It was so mind-numbingly dull I don't know if I can bother watching it on the DVR. This comment by Jim Geraghty certainly rings true:

Not erróneo, mentiras

Jake Tapper understates just now dishonest an Obama ad is. Sort of takes the out-of-context "100 years" quote and turns it up to 11, managing to lie about McCain and Rush Limbaugh both.

A hearty "amen" to Peter Kirsansow (my bold):

'Sometimes people lost their jobs'

James Taranto:

Two of McCain's comments--"I did it out of patriotism, not for profit" and "sometimes people lost their jobs"--lead us to think that McCain's problem with economics goes beyond mere indifference. He seems to view the making of money--that is to say, the production of goods and services that people want, and the act of supplying them through voluntary exchange in a free market--as a less than honorable pursuit.
